Owner and founder Brittany Simmington turned her lifelong dream into reality when she opened Studio West Dance Center in the fall of 2021. With more than 15 years of teaching experience in both Minnesota and Southern California, Brittany is passionate about creating a positive, family-centered environment where dancers of all ages can thrive.

Brittany grew up training competitively in all styles of dance and discovered her love for teaching at just 15 years old while assisting and instructing at her hometown studio. She continued her dance education at the University of Minnesota, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and even spent a year training in New Zealand.

After college, Brittany moved to the West Coast, where she spent eight years teaching and choreographing for studios and dance teams throughout Washington and Southern California. Throughout her career, Brittany's choreography and dancers have earned numerous choreography awards, high point awards, judge's choice awards, convention scholarships, and state championship titles.

While Brittany enjoys teaching all ages and styles, her greatest passions are building strong technical foundations and creating engaging, confidence-building experiences for young dancers. She believes dance is about so much more than learning steps—it's about developing character, friendships, perseverance, and a lifelong love of movement.

Outside of the studio, Brittany enjoys spending time with her husband, David, their two daughters, Reagan and Aria, and their Goldendoodle, Rip. Whether they're traveling, exploring the outdoors, or attending concerts together, family time is at the heart of everything she does.

Brittany's vision for Studio West is simple: to create a place where every dancer feels seen, every family feels welcomed, and every child leaves class a little more confident than when they arrived. She is honored to share her passion for dance with the Studio West community and looks forward to welcoming dancers home each season.
